What happens
Patina painting is extremely popular, and there are many different methods for achieving the look. In this course, we will explore the patination technique used by Pekka. We will work with brushes, sponges, 1-Shot paints, flattening paste, color pigments, and chalk powder. You will complete an exercise on a panel and an item of your own—provided it is small enough for you to carry to the workshop yourself. (Please, no full-sized motorcycles or similar large objects.)
The course fee includes all materials; you only need to bring work clothes.
The course is limited to the first 12 people to register.
We will be using 1-Shot alkyd paints, which are thinned with mineral spirits (white spirit). While this is a common household product, please let us know if you have an allergy to mineral spirits.
Who is this for?
This type of painting is suitable for anyone. I set the minimum age at 16, as the work requires a high level of focus and perseverance. That said, younger participants are welcome if they are truly enthusiastic! Prior training experience is not required, though it certainly wouldn’t hurt. You are also welcome to bring along your own work for evaluation.
